Let it be known that Marketing Plan Woman was born March 25, 2008, at 9:30am, when I was talking to a local businessman about his website plans. I think he was implying I had super powers when he said, "How did you know that I don't have a marketing plan?" While I don't have x-ray vision that allows me to see who does and doesn't have a plan, I do know that just having that plan clarifies website and marketing goals.

People who understand that their website is one part of their marketing stay engaged in their marketing after their website goes up. They keep plugging away—adding and expanding their marketing in a confident and compelling way. Usually it’s because they already have a marketing plan.

There is dark underside to this story. Sometimes people put up a website…they put a lot of work into their site…then the site goes up and they flounder. They don't know what to do next! They have heard me say that the site doesn't work by itself…but they really don't know what to do and they are disappointed that they aren't seeing more results from their site.
